The cat in sheep's clothing
The Selkirk Rex is the only cat breed named after a person. Born from a natural genetic mutation in Montana in 1987, the breed is famous for its plush, dense curls and a personality that is patient, affectionate, and exceptionally good with families.
Unlike other rex breeds, the Selkirk's curls are full and tight, more sheep than cat. They are calm lap cats who tolerate handling well and bond deeply with their humans. Kittens come in both shorthair and longhair varieties, in every color.
