Meet our breeding cats
The 6 Selkirk Rex cats behind every Selkirkish kitten. Health tested, carefully selected, and raised as family pets first.
Six cats. One family.
Our breeding program is intentionally small. We have 4 queens and 2 sires, and they all live in our home as part of our family. None of our cats live in a separate cattery building. They sleep on our beds, follow us around the house, and grow up alongside our children.
Every cat in our program has been screened for PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease), HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy), FIV, and FeLV. We do not breed any cat that has not passed full genetic and health screening. Test results are available on request before adoption.
We keep our program small for a reason. Six cats is the maximum we can give the time, space, and attention they deserve. Adding a seventh would compromise what we believe a Selkirk Rex cat deserves from their family. Read more about how we operate.

How we care for our cats
The standards we follow for the cats who give us our kittens. They come first, always.
01
Full health testing
Every cat is screened for PKD, HCM, FIV, and FeLV before they ever enter our breeding program. We retest at appropriate intervals and never breed a cat with an unknown health status. Full results are available on request.
02
Spaced litters
Our queens are not bred back to back. We give every queen full recovery time between litters, sometimes a full year. A tired or stressed queen does not produce healthy kittens, and we will never rush that timeline for production.
03
Retire as family
When a queen or sire is ready to retire from breeding, they stay with us as family pets for the rest of their lives. We do not sell off breeding cats. They earned a place in our home, and they keep it.
