The Selkirk Rex breed
The Selkirk Rex is a curly-coated cat breed that originated in Montana in 1987. The breed is known for its plush, dense curls and its calm, affectionate personality. Selkirk Rex cats are often called the cat in sheep's clothing because of their distinctive coat texture.
Unlike other rex breeds like the Devon Rex or Cornish Rex, the Selkirk Rex has a heavier, more muscular body with a round face and big eyes. They come in both shorthair and longhair varieties, and in every color and pattern accepted by the standard.
