How we ship safely
Shipping a kitten is not the same as shipping a package. Every Selkirkish kitten travels with documented care, a vet-issued health certificate, and a transport method chosen specifically for the route. We do not use standard couriers or any service that treats animals as cargo.
Once you complete payment for your Selkirk Rex kitten, we arrange transport that meets your route. Some destinations are best handled by ground pet transporters, others by a personal pet nanny service that flies with the kitten in-cabin. The right method depends on the destination, the season, and the kitten's needs.

Every kitten gets a final vet check 48 hours before travel and receives a health certificate required for transport.

Kittens travel in an approved soft carrier with a familiar blanket from our home, food, water, and an absorbent pad.

Transport methods
We use two primary methods for delivering Selkirkish kittens, selected based on your location and the safest route for the kitten. Both options are professional, fully licensed, and built specifically for transporting animals.
Licensed pet transport
Ground transport companies that specialize in safe, climate-controlled vehicle delivery. The transporter follows USDA pet transport regulations and the vehicles are equipped with appropriate temperature controls. Best for nearby states. Delivery time depends on route, typically a day or two. The transporter is the only animal handler on the route.
Pet nanny service
A pet nanny is a professional who flies with your kitten as an in-cabin carry-on, not as cargo. The kitten stays at their feet for the entire flight. The nanny handles all airline check-in, security, and transfer to you on arrival. Best for longer distance, time-sensitive deliveries, or any route where same-day arrival is needed. Delivery can be within hours of departure.
The cost of transport is included in the kitten's price for most US destinations. For remote locations, expedited service, or routes requiring multiple connections we may quote a separate transport fee, but this is discussed openly before payment. There are no hidden shipping charges that appear after you commit.
We work with the same trusted transporters and pet nannies for every kitten. They know our cats, they know our process, and they handle Selkirkish kittens with the care we expect. We do not switch providers based on lowest price. Quality of care during transit matters more than any cost saving.
What to expect on delivery day
Delivery time depends on the method we use for your route. A pet nanny flight can put your kitten at your door within hours of departure, while a ground transport route across several states may take a day or two. We confirm timing with you in writing before the kitten leaves our home.
Day before delivery
Your kitten gets a final vet check, eats a normal meal, and is prepared for travel with their carrier, blanket, and travel kit. We send you the tracking link and estimated arrival window.
Day of delivery
Your kitten begins the journey on the agreed schedule. The transporter or pet nanny sends you live tracking updates and photos along the way. You receive arrival confirmation in advance so you can be home to receive them.
Arrival
Your kitten arrives at your door. The transporter hands you the kitten, all paperwork (vaccination records, health certificate), and a starter kit including a small bag of their current food and a familiar blanket. The whole handover takes about 10 minutes.
First night
Set up a quiet room with food, water, litter, and the blanket from us. Let your kitten settle in at their own pace. Most kittens explore within an hour and are comfortable within 24 hours. The familiar blanket from our home helps tremendously because it carries the scent of their mother and siblings.
First week
Keep your kitten in the small quiet room for the first 2 to 3 days, then gradually introduce them to more of the home. Continue feeding the same food we sent home for at least the first 2 weeks to avoid stomach upset. Schedule the required vet visit within 72 hours of arrival per our health guarantee terms.
Why our shipping is different
Most online cattery scams ship kittens through unreliable couriers or non-existent transport companies. Many never ship at all. The way a cattery ships their kittens is one of the clearest indicators of whether they are real.
- We never use standard couriers. No FedEx, no UPS, no DHL. Live animals do not belong in standard package delivery systems. Period.
